Text: Lucille Evelyn Ramsey Gordon was born in Park River, North Dakota to William and Laura Geneva (Falter) Ramsey. She was the seventh of 10 children, 9 of whom survived to adulthood. She spent her early childhood on the farm in North Dakota. When she was 11, however, her father died and so, the family moved to Kelso, Washington where she completed her education.
She married Frank H Gordon and to that union 4 children were born: Frank, Jr., Floyd, Faye, and Karen.
Lucille was an extremely independant person who valued reading, travel, and gardening. She was especially fond of roses and had an enviable rose garden. A world wide traveler she so enjoyed visiting all the places she had studied, finding wonder in each place she had dreamed of seeing. Although she lived in Vancouver, WA for most of her later years, the Kelso/Longview area remained home.
She died August 4, 2013 in Longview, WA at the age of 91, a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, much loved and revered by her family.
