WHISPERING PINES -- Mrs. Jeanne Gunter Chalcroft, 83, of Whispering Pines died Saturday in her home.
Mrs. Chalcroft was a retired veteran of the Army Nurse Corps. She was a registered nurse.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.
Mrs. Chalcroft is survived by a daughter, Signe C. Gravatt of Whispering Pines; a son, Barry D. Chalcroft of Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Virginia Maddox of Sanford and Lucille Black of Carthage; and six grandchildren.

Text: Mark Alan Tigner, 47, of Pleasant Hill, Calif., died Feb. 17, 2004, of cancer.
He was born June 27, 1956, in Tacoma, Wash., to Lois (Chalcroft) and Everett Arnold Tigner.
He graduated from Newport High School in 1974, and was named to the "Who's Who of High School Football Players" that year. He attended Oregon State University, Corvallis.
He owned and operated Tigner General Contractors, and worked as roughneck on North Slope, Alaska, for Rowan Oil.
He married Joanne Simington on Feb. 22, 1992, in Lake Tahoe Calif.
He sponsored and coached his children's flag football, baseball and basketball teams for many years.
He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and sports. He was a longtime fan of the Oregon Ducks and San Francisco Giants.
Survivors include his parents, Arnold and Lois; his wife, Joanne Tigner; four children, Ryan, Marcus, Sean, and Britny; his mother-in-law, Irene Mayes; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Greg Tigner, on Jan 16, 1993.
