Text: Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Alton Bruce Nance, Sr., age 77, passed away July 31, 1993 in a West Valley City hospital.
Alton was born December 19, 1915, in Garfield, Utah, the son of James Milton and Ellen Alwilda Brady Nance.
Married Ruth Folker on January 22, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Alton graduated from Jordan High School in 1935.
He worked as a brick mason, was the custodian of the Rosecrest and Valley View Wards for over 18 years, and was currently working for Furst Construction.
Alton was active in the Scouting program throughout his life, and was an Eagle Scout.
He was an active high priest in the LDS Church, serving in many capacities including a stake mission.
As a cabin owner, he served as a water-master for the Mill-D Association.
His hobbies and interests included gardening, photography, and travel.
His greatest love was being with his family.
Alton will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; two sons and four daughters, A. Bruce, Jr. (Linda), Carolyn Ruth ( Dennis) Gilbert, David M., Marilyn K. (Stephen) Gibson, Jeanette L. ( Robert) Furstenau, Sherry L. (Dan) Hogge, all from Salt Lake City; 28 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Wesley B. and Stanley Nance; and two sisters, Beryl Ekman and Joyce Short.
Preceded in death by a grandson, Alan Furstenau; a brother, James; and a sister, Averil Kreipl.

Text: Alton Bruce Nance, Jr., 63, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 18, 2004.
He was born April 30, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alton Bruce and Ruth Folker Nance.
Bruce graduated from Olympus High School in 1959, and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
On July 1, 1960, Bruce married his soul mate, Linda Ellen Spencer, and together they enjoyed 43 years of marriage and were blessed with six children, 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
As we struggle with the loss of this gentle man, many beautiful memories give us peace.
Bruce was a man of character, loyal and loving. Above all, Bruce loved his family.
He remembered your face, rarely your name; he would do anything for you.
His generous spirit made it an honor to know him, let alone love him.
He did, indeed, walk softly upon the earth.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Linda, daughters Brenda (John) Hubbard, Tamera (Mike) Capson, Lisa (Kevin) Mantz, Terri (Eric) Thomas, and sons, Michael (Jessica) Nance and Matthew (Rachel) Nance, 18 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, Siblings, Carolyn (Dennis) Gilbert, David Nance, Marilyn (Steve) Gibson, Jeanette (Bob) Furstenau, Sherry (Dan) Hogge.
Bruce was preceded in death by his loving parents.

Text: Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Edward Benbow Erekson, 87, passed away on September 30, 1999 of causes incident to age.
Born March 25, 1912 in Murray, Utah to William Benbow Erekson and Esther Marie Young Erekson.
Married Louise Barton on January 17, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Ed served a mission in Germany from 1936-1939. He attended the University of Utah, where he played on the basketball team. His church service included serving in the Murray Stake Sunday School Presidency, in the Bishopric of the Original Butler Ward, as Young Mens President in the East Jordan Stake for six years, in the East Jordan Stake Presidency, as Assistant Explorer Leader and a greeter in the Cottonwood Fourteenth Ward. He loved people.
Survived by wife; four daughters, Barbara Cromar; Mary Lou (Dennis) Sahleen; Marne Burdette; Edette (Randy) Crump; 24 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by son, Edward Bryon Erekson; three brothers; and one sister.
