Text:   Ann Jensen Coulam, age 85, died of congestive heart failure August 8, 2001 in Nashville, Tennessee, where she was living in an assisted living community. Her husband, Merrill Jackson Coulam, preceded her in death in February of this year.

She was born December 7, 1915, to Hilmer J. Jensen and Hazel McGhie Jensen in Midvale, Utah. She married Merrill on November 15, 1935. She was a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Ann retired in 1979 as an Accounting Department supervisor from Mountain Bell Telephone Company (U.S. West Communications) after 26 years of service. After her retirement, she was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers of America organization until she and Merrill moved to Nashville in May 2000. She received several certificates of merit and appreciation for her volunteer work in the Bonneville Council Life Member Club. Among other positions, she served as Life Member representative, secretary, and president, and was actively involved with the Telephone Pioneer Busy Belles.

She is survived by her two sons, Dr. Craig M. Coulam (Martha) of Nashville, TN and Dr. Curtis R. Coulam (Susan) of Grants Pass, OR, and by her daughter Dr. Joyce C. Swofford (Ron) of Atlanta, GA., her sister, Mrs. Robert (Carol Beth) Standing of Salt Lake City and nine grandchildren.
