Text: Helen Wood Fackrell, 91, died peacefully on December 13, 2008 at The Inn On Barton Creek Assisted Living Center in Bountiful, Utah.
Born April 4, 1917 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Arthur John and Ellen Wray Wood. Graduated from the University of Utah in 1930. Married her eternal sweetheart, Hal E. Fackrell on June 14, 1940.
Helen was a faithful member of the LDS Church. She enjoyed many church assignments especially teaching Relief Society lessons. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gama sorority and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Helen was a kindergarten teacher for many years and loved children. Many people called her Grandma Helen. She and Hal loved to travel and visited countries around the world. They shared treasured times together dancing, gardening and golfing.
Helen is survived by her three children, Robert Fackrell (Kathi), Nina Barnhart (Jim) and Mary Thurston; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and her cockatiel Pretty Bird. Preceded in death by her husband Hal, brothers John and Dick Wood, and her grandson Joshua Thurston.
