Text: Lila Folker Petersen, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at the age of eighty-six.
She was born June 11, 1928 in Peoa to Alfred Dewitt and Gladys Midgley Folker.
She grew up in East Millcreek and graduated from Granite High School.
She married Stanley Ernest Petersen on May 18, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Mom loved her Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ and served in many callings, including president of both the Relief Society and Primary.
She especially loved the little children and had great concern for the welfare of others. Mom and Dad were foster parents for eighteen years, having had over fifty children in their care.
Her hobbies included crocheting, quilting, crafts, and making chocolates. She enjoyed sharing her creations with family and friends. Mom struggled with ailing health for many years and we are grateful to all who have cared for and assisted her.
Survived by her husband of sixty-five years; children, Ellen Petersen, Donna (David) Clark, and Roy Petersen; grandchildren, Benjamin (Angie), Maren, and Michaela Clark; and two great-grandchildren. She is reunited with her daughters, Karen Ann (infant) and Debra Colleen Petersen; her parents; all of her brothers and sisters; and many loved ones who went before.
